MSN Messenger gets a new name, and a new look

Microsoft unveiled its popular IM app for public testing late last night. This new Windows Live Messenger that is in beta mode will replace the current MSN Messenger. Some note worthy features within this IM service is its ability to let you share folders and files locally with your online buddies, as well as its outbound Net phone capabilities.

Web giants and VoIP service providers (Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, and Skype) are fighting to provide you with their exceptional service and of course to have you as their primary customer. It will not only be a one stop chat client but will also act as your telephone. It will be the premiere place for videoconferencing and your starting point for scheduling, blogging, social networking, and shopping.
