Microsoft Increase Xbox 360 Chip Orders

It seems that Microsoft has started to step its production up a gear by increasing orders for Xbox 360 chips from its Taiwanese suppliers.

Digitimes is reporting, via a translation from the Chinese Commercial Times, that Microsoft has told its semiconductor manufacturers based in Taiwan to expect order numbers to increase significantly starting this month.

The report further says that orders for the second quarter of this year are likely to be around double the number of orders for the first quarter, meaning that hopefully we can see an end to shortages of any kind for the console.
