Global chip sales down

In what is historically a poor month for semiconductor sales, worldwide shipments in February came in at $19.2 billion in February, 6.8 percent higher than for the same month last year.

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said the figures released Monday (April 3) represent a 2.2 percent sequential decline from the $19.65 billion reported in January.

The Association says February sales indicate its forecast for 7.9 percent growth for the year is on target.
