T-Mobile and Cingular temporarily pull Motorola RAZR

T-Mobile USA and Cingular Wireless have temporarily pulled the Motorola RAZR V3 from sales channels. Sources confirmed the move with T-Mobile though a company spokesperson noted in a telephone call that the popular model is expected to begin shipping again soon, possibly next week.

According to T-Mobile, there was a component issue with a limited number of GSM RAZR handsets purchased by carriers after February 1st. Motorola noted this afternoon that the issue is related to affected handsets dropping calls and then having the screen go white and reboot. Customers with handsets that are affected should contact their carrier to facilitate an exchange.

At this time the RAZR is still listed on Cingular's online storefront but is marked as out of stock. T-Mobile's store does not show the RAZR at all.
