Comparing Search Engine

Have you been using one search engine to perform your work? Depending on what you are looking for, you might be missing out on relevant information.

Dogpile’s search comparison tool does a pretty good job in visualizing the differences between three search engines named Google, MSN, and Yahoo.

It is worth a look, Dogpile .

Modding the Xbox in 10 minutes

Xbox modification which has progressed a long way over the past couple of years has shown a significant improvement in the modding industry. Ever since the release of the much anticipated gaming console, gaming enthusiasts have been waiting to get there hands on this console. In an recent publication “With the introduction of the TSOP mod, potential modders no longer had to shell out money for a modchip; rather just bridge two points on the Xbox motherboard. Now one doesn't even have to open up his Xbox”.

Using code exploits in certain games, a user will be able to load a phony gamesave that will boot into a Linux based operating system and allow the user to mod his/her Xbox…yes under 10 minutes.

Modding an Xbox does void your warranty; please perform this at your own risk.

Things needed in modding your Xbox –

1. An Xbox Memory Card - A way to transfer two gamesaves from your PC to the memory card.

2. Any version of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (NOT PANDORA TOMORROW OR CHAOS THEORY)

3. Mech Assault with the Serial #: MS02301L on the inner ring of the game CD
An internet connection, an IRC client (, an FTP client (Smart FTP and WinRAR (

Exclusive Windows Vista release date

Windows Vista, Microsoft’s next operating system release date has been revealed. Accoring to a recent internal Microoft documentation, Microsoft is preparing a release schedule for several products over the next year. Some of the software release schedules are for Windows Vista (codenamed “Longhorn”), WinFS, and SQL Server 2005 (codenamed “Yuon”).

Windows Vista

Inspite of all the possible rumors that have been circulating in the past, Microsoft is planning to ship Windows Vista Beta 2 in late 2005, not in early 2006. According to a recent publication “Vista Beta 2 is scheduled to be "feature complete" by September 29, 2005. Then, Vista Beta 2 will enter lockdown mode between October and November 9, 2005. After that date, Beta 2 will be in escrow. Microsoft now plans to ship Windows Vista Beta 2 on December 7, 2005”.

Microsoft currently plans to release Windows Vista to manufacturing on August 9, 2006, and make the product broadly available by November 15, 2006.

Longhorn Server

All of the above dates apply to Longhorn server as well. We'll see an RC2 release of Longhorn Server on October 18, 2006, and then the RTM release on January 10, 2007, according to the latest documentation.

A lot of people were surprised by the shipping of WinFS Beta 1 Monday. As for the schedule - WinFS Beta 1 will be followed by at least one Community Technology Preview (CTP) release, which is currently due on February 15, 2006. Then, on May 1, 2006, Microsoft is scheduled to release WinFS Beta 2. Beta 3 is currently scheduled for November 15, 2006, with a Beta 3 Refresh release expected in April 2007. WinFS is currently scheduled for RTM in Q3 2007.

As software development is an intricate challenge, it is likely that Microsoft will miss targets and have to adjust accordingly. But for now these are the release schedules.

9 Days until Firefox 1.5 Beta!

Mozilla Firefox scheduled a lockdown for “Firefox 1.5 Beta 1” which will take place at 11:59 P.M on Tuesday, Sept 6 in preparation for release on Thursday, Sep 8.

There are a set of bugs blocking Beta 1 which is tracked by blocking1.8b4 flag. This is a set of bugs which have to be completed before the public release. These are large/risky patches, common crashes.

The set of bugs that are blocking the release of Beta 2 are tracked by the blocking 1.8b5 flag.

Recent release dates –

Sept 6: Lockdown for 1.5b1
Sept 8: Release 1.5b1
Oct 3: Lockdown for 1.5b2
Oct 5: Release 1.5b2
Oct 26: Lockdown for 1.5RC1
Oct 28: Release 1.5RC1

Lets do it Mozilla.

iTunes Phone

Will it be Cingular or not!!

Over the past couple of days there have been articles that have been released about Cell phone to come included with iTunes. The latest rumor indicates that Cingular will be the one to use Motorola’s iTunes phone, yeah!! As of right now neither Cingular nor Motorola have confirmed about this rumor, both the companies have not denied to this rumor either. Which means something is cooking. Will it be Cingular who uses the next Motorola phone with iTunes will be known on September 7th when Apple will hold a press event in San Francisco? Apple which still has not confirmed the release of iTunes on Motorola phone did say this “invitations came with the tagline 1000 songs in your pocket changed everything”.

At this point we have to wait and watch as to what happens, and what Cell phone company gets the contract to use Motorola.

White Water Rafting

White Water Rafting an adventurous and an exciting activity by its own. West Virginia which is known for its scenery (Trees, beautiful landscape, rolling hills etc) but more known for its rivers and White Water Rafting. West Virginia offers one of the broadest array of river experiences available anywhere in the world, from mild to wild with everything in between.

This past weekend was one in which I experienced the adventures of White Water Rafting. What an amazing experience, the river, the rapids, the fun. Before embarking on this amazing journey of 71/2 miles through the New River, I had doubts in my mind whether or not if I will be able to make through. But I did!! On our course we had to face level 4 and level 5 (pretty big rapids) currents which made this experience worth it. Note only rafting but traveling with 20 friends, in 3 vans, over 3 days was another factor the made this trip more enjoyable.

The whole experience will be one that will never be forgotten for the rest of my life.

People considering White Water Rafting should definitely go and enjoy this activity and the scenery that comes with.

Tips on Moving

1. What, Where and When Decisions

Before you call a moving company decide: What, Where and When...early in the planning. What's the best way to dispose of items you don't want in your new home? Identify furnishings that won't fit and things your family has outgrown. What furnishings will you replace within two months?

2. Who will move you?

Before you decide whether to move yourself or to have a professional move you, answer these five questions:

*Do you have adequate physical strength and endurance?
*Do you have at least two helpers, at least one who is stronger than you are?
*Can you be sure to have adequate time off work to complete the move on schedule?
*Will your homeowner’s policy cover potential loss in case of accident en route?
*Can you carry everything through doorways, up stairs without damage?

3. Packing for your move

Packing is both art and science--art in combining just the right items in each box to arrive damage-free, science in producing an inventory that enables you to quickly find anything you need at a moment's notice after arriving in your new home.

Some helpful hints:

*When possible, combine items that will go together in your new home.
*Pack heavy items in smaller, heavy duty cartons.
*Clearly mark room destination on TOP and at least ONE SIDE of every carton.
*Remember, your mover won't know which child is which, so tag bedroom boxes with BR-1 or BR-2 and tape the same tags on appropriate bedroom doors.

Some items should be moved with you:

*Family records
*Insurance, health and other related paperwork

4. Records Valuables, Notifying utilities

Gather records and make plans to move them as carefully as possible including:

*Family medical and tax records
*Diplomas, school records
*Family genealogies, pictures

Notify utilities, media and others before the move. Check this list of businesses to be notified:

*Electric power company
*Water company
*Natural gas supplier
*Local telephone companies
*Long distance telephone company
*Television company
*Stock brokers, mutual funds
*Credit cards, banks

If you follow these points moving will be easier, faster, and stress free.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar which enables you to search for specific literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. Use Google Scholar to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.

Flash Memory that will speed up Hard Drives

In a competitive PC environment, companies are competing to be the best when it comes to a certain technology (whether it is Hard Drives, Memory etc). Boot time which determines how long will it take for your PC to boot up to the Windows XP screen. As PC are becoming more and more faster, at the same time the applications are getting more and more robust requiring more processing power, as well as more memory and storage space. We all live in a fast paced society where we expect things to be done in a fast and quick way.

Why not expect that from your PC as well, as currently there are 57 million users who use some form of accessible technology (Computers), wouldn’t it be nice if your PC took less time to wake up, and your laptops had increased battery life.

These are the some of the promises of solid-state memory disks (SSDs), which use flash memory to supplement or replace today’s hard drives.

Samsung which is working on two types of products: pure SSDs and hybrid drives that combine traditional hard disks and flash memory. Pure SSDs give you all the benefits listed above but cost a lot more than today's drives. Hybrids will offer extended battery life and faster boot-ups, but should have only a small price premium.

Mixed Storage –

Microsoft and Samsung's planned hybrid drive should provide better battery life and shorter wake-up times, with negligible additional costs. Whenever your laptop idles or goes to sleep, you can save apps and files to the hybrid's 64MB or 128MB of fast flash memory instead of to the conventional portion of the drive. The data stored in flash will be available almost instantly, saving time at wake-up and boot-up.

Advantages 0f this –

Speed – In today’s society speed is everything, whether it is finishing a task, developing a product and bringing it in front of consumers, building an automobile. Users need speed especially on PC’s (Hard Drives) as they work on important concepts that influence everyone’s daily life.

Time – Timing is everything, as the market is getting more and more competitive, companies are fighting with each other to develop and introduce a better and a more advanced product. PC’s (Hard Drives) play a critical role in that development, there is no room for the slow, this reflects to the wake up time as well.

1. Avoid announcing "a joke." Just tell it.
2. Keep it clean. It's better to tell clean jokes rather than risk offending someone.
3. Tell "smart" jokes, not "dumb" ones. Smart jokes have a bigger payoff 4.
4. Tell jokes that inform. Humor is more rewarding when it informs. Try to tell jokes that are

Blu Ray or HD Dvd lets fight!!

Blu Ray or HD I’m confused…can someone help me out here.

The fight for DVD heats up as both Japanese firms take on their own technology. Sony with its distinct Blu Ray format which will unveil during the release of its Playstation 3 videogame, and Toshiba with HD (High Definition) format for its DVD’s to unveil during Christmas. Both companies do not have any plans of collaboration; there will be separate DVD players that will be manufactured to support HD and Blu Ray.

From a recent article -

“Moreover, the battle of the DVD formats goes beyond the two companies that are developing them. Toshiba's product is being backed by NEC and Sanyo, while Sony is being supported by Matsushita, the manufacturer of the Panasonic label as well as Apple Computer, Dell, Philips and Samsung. In addition, entertainment companies are finding themselves backing one or the other, with Paramount, Universal Pictures, which is part of General Electric, and Time Warner siding with Toshiba's HD format, while MGM, Disney and Sony's own Sony Pictures are promoting the Blu-ray disc.”

In an article published by Game Daily Biz –

"Despite their wishes to consolidate, it appears that irreconcilable differences have made it an impossibility, and consumers will have to choose for themselves which format will reign as DVD's true successor"

Blu Ray is likely to get a boost from the fact that Sony is including a Blu ray drive in its Playstation 3 gaming console. Sony is hoping that the PS3 will help fuel the adoption of Blu-ray much in the same way that DVD began to take off as more consumers purchased PS2s. Microsoft meanwhile has only said that they would consider adding HD DVD capability to future versions of Xbox 360, but if Blu-ray wins the format war, it would of course be a fruitless move by MS.

What disappoints me is the fact why can’t companies come up with one product that benefits every consumer. I know, it’s easier said than done.

Which technology will win this battle in the DVD market, is a matter of time. We as consumers can only hope that both these companies (Sony and Toshiba) can collaborate and work towards one DVD format. Yeah right!!

How to be successful in life?

A successful life is a satisfying life. It is a life that in which you are healthy, happy and satisfied with your existence. Much of what happens in your life is a result of your philosophy or the way you think in life.

Questions you may have –

1. What do I need to do in order to be successful?
2. Do attitude, health, and wealth play any role?
3. How do I start?

Have a positive thinking –

In order to lead a good, well balanced lifestyle, you need a positive philosophy towards your life.

Important factors that will aid you during this process

Take 100 percent responsibility for your life - In a society where people blame everything from their parents to the government for their failure to get ahead in life, they realized that when you say someone or something outside of yourself is preventing you from succeeding, you're giving away your power to that someone or something. You're saying, "You have more control over my life than I do!"
Successful people don't buy into this victim thinking. Rather, their personal credo is "If it's to be, it's up to me!"

Live your life on purpose – People who succeed in life are the ones that have and know what the purpose of their life is. When you live your life as a purpose you get he job done, and get it done right. People find you attractive because they sense your commitment to giving your all.

Be willing to pay the price for your dreams – You definitely want a big house or a luxury car but the problem is everyone wants these things. The question then is, "Are you willing to pay the price to get them?"

This is one of the major differences between the successful and the unsuccessful. Successful men and women find out what it's going to cost to make their dream come true. Then they find a way to make it happen. Most importantly, they don't complain about the work it takes to achieve their dreams.

Stay Focused – Every day we have to deal with many tasks, and communicate with a lot of people in order to get the tasks done. This is why the ability to focus on your goal is so critical to achieving it. Focusing requires giving up some things in the present because you know the time invested will pay off big-time down the road.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong
as they sometimes will,
when the road you are trudging
seems all uphill,
when the funds are low,
and the debts are high,
and you want to smile,
but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing down a bit…
rest if you must-but don’t you quit.

Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tints of the clouds of doubt,
and you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar,
so stick to the fight
when you’re hardest hit….
it’s when things go wrong,
that you mustn’t quit.

Ways to beat depression

Depression mostly everyone in their life has gone through this stage. Depression comes in various forms failing a task, an exam, or by someone you love. Depression however could be very fatal not only to your mind but also to your body. It could cause life-long consequences that may ruin your self-esteem, health, and well-being.

Ways of beating depression –

A healthy body and a healthy mind – Eating right is one of the key factors that contribute to beating depression, avoid foods with lots of sugar, caffeine, or alcohol. Sugar and caffeine provides you with a brief moment of energy, but later bring about anxiety. Consuming alcohol during this process not only slows your thinking process but usually makes the problem seem even bigger after you sober up.

Exercising is the best depression booster as it increases your bodies’ endorphin levels and makes you feel good about yourself and your body. Endorphins are sometimes called "the happy chemicals" because of their stress-reducing and happiness-inducing properties.

Keep yourself busy – One of the ways to reduce depression is to keep yourself occupied in different chores (whether it is office work, or household work). Actively live an inspired life. Do what makes you happy, it can be anything, like bloging, hanging out with your friends (my favorite), reading a book etc. This will take your mind of your worries and allow productive thoughts to enter into your mind.

Set a goal - a meaningful purpose in life. No matter how difficult or discouraging life can be, remain firm and have an unshakable belief that you are capable of doing anything you desire. With this kind of positive attitude, you will become excited about life and attain a cheerful disposition to overcome any difficult situation.

Be surrounded with knowledgeable people – To succeed in life one has to be motivated in life, how can one be motivated during times of depression. Well by surrounding yourself by friends, and intelligent people who care this can relieve a little bit of depression from your life. Family and friends are the ones that give moral support and are always their when you need them in times of help.

Bad news for Lotus Notes

IBM Lotus Notes e-mail and collaboration program used by companies all across the world, is finding itself in a pool of trouble. Two top market research firms, Gartner and IDC have published new reports showing IBM lost more e-mail market share to competitor Microsoft in 2004.

Both research firms now say Microsoft Exchange is King of e-mail, a market dominant with Notes with more than a 60% share.

"IDC says sales of Exchange grew 23% in 2004, to $950 million, while Notes sales grew 5% to $745 million. By the end of 2004, Exchange held 51% of the market, versus 40% for Notes, IDC says. That's a wider gap than in 2003, when IDC estimated Exchange held a 47% market share versus 43% for Notes."

Garner estimates Exchange has a market share of 48% versus 45.2% for Notes.

Many companies are switching to Microsoft Exchange as they don't see a promising future with Notes.

CompUSA one of the company that is making a switch to Microsoft Exchange –

"CompUSA, the computer retailer, adopted Notes in 1993 but now is moving all of its 9,000 Notes users to Exchange. Cathy Witt , chief information officer at CompUSA in Dallas, says she is jumping ship because she doesn't believe Notes has a bright future.

"Over the next ten years I think Notes isn't going to have a place anymore. For big enterprises, I don't see it staying. I see more and more big companies that were Notes shops, like we were, making that change," says Witt."

So why does a company stick with Notes and not transition to Microsoft Exchange –

Mostly due to the fact that there are many companies that have written loads of small applications that run on Notes, and the cost of rewriting all those applications for a Microsoft environment is so high that many just stick with Notes.

Microsoft now is trying to overcome that hurdle by writing software that makes it easier for Notes customers to switch to Microsoft.

The company is also trying to convince third-party developers who write add-on applications for Notes to start writing those applications for Microsoft's platform.

Radicati Group, a research firm, estimates Notes today has 23% market share but predicts that share will slip to 13% by 2009. Radicati reckons that by 2009 Exchange will have 200 million users worldwide, versus 103 million for IBM's two mail products, Notes and Workplace, combined.

Will there be a future for Notes, only time will tell. As of now Microsoft Exchange seems to be promising when it comes to an e-mail server.

Vietnam doc makes his own endoscope

A doctor in rural Vietnam as made his version of a low cost endoscope using a webcam, a Pentium 4 processor, and Windows operating system. I know a lot of you will be asking yourself, how much did it costs? $800 compared to $30000 that are used in big hospitals.

“The adaptor costs almost nothing because it is simply a system of lens linked to a webcam costing just about $30.’

"A Pentium 4 computer with a color printer is all that is needed for image processing.”

"In total I had to buy only the scope, which is about $800," Dr Huy told the BBC World Service programme Go Digital.”

"Using the Windows operating system, we have programs to record the images and put them in a database of patients.”

"I can now make a complete endoscope system in just one week."

Forgot where you parked your car, this will help

A lot of times this has happened to me especially in unknown surroundings or a big parking lot. I park my car; leave come back, now I can’t find my car. If this is you, take a look at this, it will definitely help you.

Write down the location in your datebook. If you carry around a calendar on your person, mark down which row and level you parked on in the corner of today’s entry. This is a great way to keep track of your car on a day-to-day basis.
Snap a picture. Carrying a cameraphone? Shoot a picture of the “You Parked in Row 5 of the Bluebird Level”-type sign nearest your car.
Note the landmarks. No signs? Look where you are in relationship to the major landmarks around you. For example, are you about 2/3rds of the way down the row that starts with the T in Target? Let the landmarks be your guide.
Tell a friend. When you involve other people, chances increase that one of you will remember where you parked the car.
Unlock and relock. Got a keyless remote? Go ahead and press the lock/unlock button a few times. Your car should beep at you when you lock it.

Once you use all these techniques finding your car will be a piece of cake.

Open a Stuck Jar Lid

Sometimes opening a stuck Jar Lid can be quite frustrating if you are in the middle of cooking something or plain want to eat something. Try these tips and see if they work.

1. If the jar is new, use a triangular-tipped bottle opener to apply pressure and break the vacuum seal. Do this by placing the triangular tip underneath the lid and pulling the lid away from the jar until you pop the seal.

2. If this doesn't work and you suspect that food is stuck in the lid, tap the lid with a wooden spoon to knock away the food.

3. Wrap the lid in a dish towel to give your hands traction as you twist. Or put rubber bands around the lid to get a good grip. The rubber bands that hold together bunches of vegetables are ideal.

4. If the lid still won't budge, run the lid (not the jar) under hot water for a minute. This will cause the metal lid to expand so it comes off easily.

Need help, calling customer support

Sometimes finding a customer support phone number to a store can be quite tedious, the phone number is not listed on the receipt, it is not even listed in yellow pages.
No problem! Here is a list of customer support phone numbers for a list of Internet sellers, as well as other companies.

Xbox 360 – Price has been set

Xbox 360 which is set to release in the fall of 2005 did not have a price tag when Microsoft unveiled its next generation Xbox, that has changed now. Microsoft announced that the new system will retail for $399. This version comes with most of the feature that Microsoft has been hyping for months: a hard drive, wireless adapter and membership to the Xbox live online gaming community.

However a stripped version of the console will sell for $299, this will give people an option on which type of gaming console do they want to buy.

With games like Quake 4, Half-Life2 under their belt Xbox 360 will be the console that everyone would want to buy.

Laptops are getting HOT!!

In an era where technology is changing at such a fast pace, everyone demands better and faster performance from certain devices such as Automobiles, or Laptops. But as the performance (Higher Processor Speed, increased RAM, and more Storage Space) of a Laptop begins to get higher, the notebook surface temperature remains too HOT for a lot of users.

A recent article published on Wired News talks about how present-day laptops are cooler than their predecessors. Moreover Laptop makers are struggling to accommodate components that are more powerful and, consequently, hotter.

As said by Jeff Lev a Mechanical development engineer for commercial portable sector of HP’s personal-systems group “After dropping for a few years, CPU temperatures are "ticking back up" as customers seek faster, higher-power-generating laptops”.

“Laptop temperatures also got more negative attention in December when researchers from the State University of New York at Stony Brook published a study in the journal Human Reproduction. The study showed a decrease in fertility among test subjects when laptops caused an increase of up to 2.8 degrees Celsius in the "scrotal temperatures" of 29 healthy male subjects”

As technology is getting more advanced users are opting for laptops as a replacement to their Desktops. Laptop makers have not yet come up with a solution to reduce the surface temperature, which should be the center of attention in this ever growing technology market.

Caffeine – It’s affects and benefits

Caffeine, the word has a different meaning for everyone. Caffeine also plays an important role in peoples everyday daily lives. People consume caffeine on a regular basis in the form of Coffee, Pop (Coca Cola, Pepsi, Mountain Dew) etc. As I am writing this post I like to point out something, I am not a caffeine consumer. Yes, I don’t drink coffee on a regular or on a daily basis but I definitely do not mind having a cup of coffee while I am hanging out with my friends at the local starbucks. Caffeine does have a lot of benefits not only does it keep you awake when needed, but it is also consumed on various occasions. Apart from the benefits of caffeine there are certain harmful affects of caffeine if consumed in the wrong amount.

For the caffeine addicts, here are some useful tips.

*Indulge in moderation. Doses of 10g or more can be lethal, and doses of 250mg or more are considered “overdoses”.
*Get your sleep. Caffeine is not a substitute for rest.

On the good side Caffeine does reduce the following Parkinson’s Disease and prevent skin cancer, liver cancer and others.

Sony Walkman Beam

Sony’s new gadget to compete with the shuffle called the Walkman Bean. The device features a 1 line OLED display, a fast charging lithium-ion battery (which will play 3 hours of music just from a 3minute of charge), it comes in multiple colors, with an option of 512MB, 512 +FM, and a 1GB version.

I would definitely like to see something different when it comes to a USB drive in terms of design, walkman beam looks different compared to the current USB drives that are selling in the market.

Essential Google Maps Sites

Found a great post on Some of the great implementations on Google Maps, pretty cool stuff.

PS3 for $299 on Amazon

Doesn’t that look awfully suspicious, that Sony’s Play Station3 which has a release date of spring of 2006, and not yet announced price would have a post on I do feel a little skeptical especially when buying a PS3 for myself, but the sale does look like a legitimate post. From some of the reviews that I have read, it looks like it is made in China, but still PS3 has not officially said that it would be in sale in China either.
But who knows its Amazon.

Piss powered battery

Lithium ion not really but battery powered by your own urine. Doesn’t that sound amazing or does is sound disgusting? Researchers in Singapore have been actively involved in designing a paper battery that converts urine into electricity.
The scientists from Singapore’s institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology built the battery to power tiny biochips that tests body fluid for various diseases. According to their research, urine is not only tested but also acts as the power source for the testing device.
From a report published in the Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering.

“The battery unit is made from a layer of paper that is steeped in copper chloride (CuCl) and sandwiched between strips of magnesium and copper. This "sandwich" is then held in place by being laminated, which involves passing the battery unit between a pair of transparent plastic films through a heating roller at 120ºC. The final product has dimensions of 60 mm x 30 mm, and a thickness of just 1 mm (a little bit smaller than a credit card)... Using 0.2 ml of urine, they generated a voltage of around 1.5 V with a corresponding maximum power of 1.5 mW...”

Disabling your distractibility

Brad Isaac who has been studying goal setting strategies, motivation and human achievement for 20 years talks about how to divert from certain distractions especially for those who are goal oriented.

“Goal oriented people have a lot on their minds. We are constantly thinking about our To-Do lists, who we need to contact, our schedules, meetings, family obligations, barbecues… you name it. As such, when we are in a meeting or listening to a presentation there may be a tendency for the mind to drift off thinking about what we need to do when we get out of this meeting. These distractions prevent us from focusing on what is going on in our current surroundings. It impairs our ability to learn and oftentimes we miss critical elements of what's going on or what is being told to us.”

How to tip properly

Ever wonder what the appropriate amount is when it’s time to pay the tip, as well as when is the proper time for giving a tip. I found this great site how-to!! on eHow: How To Tip Properly.

They also have provided some detailed tips on how you can get better service. Some are industry specific; here is an example of a Bartender tip –

A “buy back” is when the bartender, in return for (or to encourage) good tipping, will buy you a free drink. The tip on a buy back should always be at least half the cost of the drink. In busy clubs or at crowded bars, it is acceptable to “pre-tip” the bartender. This encourages him to respond promptly to your needs, and it keeps you from waiting at the bar. A pre-tip is always at least 5 dollars (and more often 10 or above, depending on how crowded or upscale the bar is). Despite the amount, it should not comprise the whole of your tipping. One dollar for every 2 drinks afterward is typically sufficient to maintain their interest.

No more Chappelle show

Ahhh!! That’s sad. Well the much anticipated Chappelle show is coming to an end. Earlier news reported that Dave Chappelle the host of the show went through a mental melt down, because of which he had to leave the show, and vacate to a nice vacation. Ohhh!! How nice. I think I need a long vacation as well, get away from work. That would be nice.

As reported by another actor Charlie Murphy (He is the brother of well known actor Eddie Murphy) who said "Chappelle's Show' is over, man. Done,". "It took me a long time to be able to say those words, but I can say it pretty easy now, because it's the truth."

Well I feel disappointed for some my friends who watch this show, but hey the man needed a break from his busy schedule, so he took a break.

Have fun Chappelle.
